India's Ministry of External Affairs Announces
the Winner of the Logo Contest for the 2012 Delhi Summit
February 10, 2012
India's Ministry of External Affairs organized an open competition to design a logo that would best reflect the spirit of this newly emergent group of countries. The contest was open to Indians that "should bring out the essence of this grouping of countries, which has received unprecedented global attention in recent years and now occupies a prominent space in the global political and economic landscape." The winner would receive a prize of Rs.50,000.
A specially appointed jury recently selected an entry created by Shri Sonesh Jain, an architecture student of IIT Roorkee in Uttrakhand. His design "blends a symbolic representation of a peacock, with colours suggesting renewal and resurgence."
